This showcase of wildly eclectic filmmaking trains a spotlight on both local and international stories told with moving images. The fourth annual edition of MNFF offers a dynamic lineup of films and events at venues around Niagara with stops in Grimsby, Niagara Falls, Ridgeway, St. Catharines, and Welland ranging from critically acclaimed features to bold and innovative shorts. Highlights include:
Feature Films:
Audiences can expect select narrative and documentary features from diverse voices, including acclaimed auteur Guy Maddin with his absurdist political satire Rumours, fresh off the Cannes red carpet with Oscar-winning stars Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander. MNFF will present feature films of many genres, including thought-provoking dramas, heartwarming comedies, and powerful documentaries exploring issues of the day, regional identity, and personal resilience.
Shorts Programs:
MNFF’s short film showcases up-and-coming and established filmmakers and inventive storytelling. Celebrate the art of short-form cinema, from experimental visual narratives to impactful social commentaries with the best Niagara-made, national, and international shorts.

MNFF 2024 includes many special events such as filmmaker Q&As giving audiences the chance to engage directly with award-winning directors and creators, as well as an industry panel to delve into the future of film and media in Niagara. Attendees will get a deeper look at the creative process and opportunities for filmmakers in Niagara.
